A large number of standards and regulations govern the building industry. As a result, high safety standards must be met for electrical installations. These standards also apply to a wide range of components that have to be integrated into complex control cabinets in a confined space. Our new AITB modular terminal block system was specially developed to meet the specific requirements and safety regulations for wiring in building installations. Special features of the series ensure real added value in planning, installation and operation on site.
The planning phase is crucial for the success and cost-effectiveness of the entire panel building process, and requires the intelligent interplay of digital product data and interconnected engineering tools. Efficient, easy wiring is key to installation.
Our products stand out in this respect with their intuitive handling and clear design. All terminal functions can be distinguished from each other instantly.
Our Klippon® Connect products feature standardised test points which make automated testing and checking processes possible. In this way, maintenance and testing tasks can be carried out much more safely and faster.

High safety requirements and standards in building technology protect the people who live and work in a building. For this purpose, there are numerous standards covering every component in the entire system, no matter how small. These norms and standards also increase the safety requirements for all electrical systems and their components – for example, the terminal block system that acts as the interface between the electrical system and the building.
When planning and installing control cabinets in buildings, the opening and closing of circuits is one of the normative requirements. Depending on the number of circuit groups within an object, the separation can be carried out via a standard disconnector or a disconnecting slide. The required measurement of the insulation resistance of all conductors to earth must be carried out without disconnecting the neutral conductor in accordance with VDE 0100-718 and DIN VDE 0100-482. In smaller circuits with few current paths, the measurement is carried out using standard disconnectors. In larger circuits with many individual current paths, a disconnecting slide is used to ensure contact with the 10x3 busbar. The measurement itself could be realize conveniently and safely via the integrated test adapter at the respective terminal point of the terminal block.
VDE 0100-718 and DIN VDE 0100-482 require a measurement of the insulation resistance of all conductors to earth without disconnecting the neutral conductor. In buildings with many FI/LS circuits, each room or current path may represent a single circuit that must be considered separately during the measurement. With the AITB terminal blocks, each N potential can be routed separately via individual isolators and separated for insulation measurements. The measurement itself could be realize conveniently and safely via the integrated test adapter at the respective terminal point of the terminal block.
In large circuit groups, the safe contact to the copper bar is established via a disconnecting slide. This closes a circuit that extends over the isolating slider to the copper bar. If the slider is levered to the end position, it opens the contact to the copper bar. Thus, the circuit is interrupted and measurements can be carried out conveniently and safely via the integrated test adapter at the respective terminal point of the terminal block. The clearly visible position indicator provides quick and reliable information about the current status of the system. It can also be read in the wired state.
The assembly of DIN-Rails for the building industry requiresa large number of individual accessories that must beinterconnected in order to meet the standard requirements.Compliance with clearances and creepage distances, fingersafety or even legibility of the functional areas are just someof the required and desired properties. Maximum flexibilitymust be provided for the individual design of the cabinetfor planning, installation and subsequent operation. The Klippon® Connect accessories for building installationwiring meet these requirements. A uniform busbar systemenables the combination of different connection systemsand the uniform accessories. The range extends from theend plate, to the busbar including accessories, to variousfeed in options for the busbar system.
With the AITB 16 BB NLO, the neutral conductor busbar isintegrated into the system quickly, safely and without anyadditional tools. As with the installation terminal blocks, theinternal wiring in the control cabinet is carried out in thedirection of the busbar. This creates a clear visual distinctionbetween internal wiring at the switchgear manufacturer andexternal wiring on the construction site. The AEB ITB 16 BBBL, without connection function for a conductor, completesthe portfolio.
The AEB ITB 2.5/4 BB BL is one of the all-rounders in theKlippon® Connect accessories for building installationwiring. The end bracket serves as a support block for thebusbar. Due to its identical contour to the 3-level installationterminal blocks AITB 2.5 BB... it could also be used as avisual demarcation within the terminal strip, but also as anend plate. This saves additional components and workingtime. A receptacle for the terminal strip labelling (WAD 5) isavailable on the head side of the products.
