By means of inductive resonance coupling, FreeCon Contactless enables reliable and contactless transmission of up to 240 W of power in an automated process. Within the multitude of advantages, it helps increase the level of automation and optimises the production process by avoiding contact-related failures and reducing maintenance costs. This makes, for instance, the automation of the process of charging driverless transport systems.
240W can be contactlessly transmitted via two extra small modules, leading to an efficiency level of up to 93 %.
Controlled by a PLC, the secondary side can be switched on or off for integration in a higher-level control program.
Its plug and play capability makes FreeCon Contactless easy to use and retrofitted for existing systems.
The automotive industry makes use of applications that require frequent plugging cycles, such as industrial robots performing tool changes. The high level of wear that occurs on the mechanical plug-in connections can be avoided entirely with FreeCon Contactless.
With the smart floor, Bosch Rexroth presents a decisive step towards the factory of the future. Using 5G and contactless energy transmission, machine modules arrange themselves independently and are supplied directly via the double floor. With the modular product solutions FreeCon Contactless and FieldPower®, Weidmüller supports the innovation project with a continuous, contactless transmission infrastructure and electrification of the flexible floor plates.
