Cabling in the automotive industry is based on the use of push-pull connectors and Weidmüller FreeCon junction boxes. These are part of the energy, signal and data installation system of the Automation Initiative of German Automobile Manufacturers (AIDA). Building on this infrastructure, the Push-Pull Power cabling standard was developed for PROFINET installations in the automotive industry.
Weidmüller's newly developed Push Pull Power SNAP IN connector can be assembled quickly, easily and reliably thanks to the integrated SNAP IN connection technology and ensures efficient cable assembly for high volumes.
No tools are required for assembly. This saves time and significantly reduces the risk of errors.
The robust metal housings of the AIDA-compliant connector are specially designed for use in harsh industrial environments with IP67 protection.
The connector complies with the current PROFINET cabling guideline and fulfils the international standard IEC 61076-3-126.
SNAP IN convinced the "German Design Council" all along the line, so that the independent jury awarded Weidmüller the German Innovation Award 2022 for its innovative SNAP IN connection technology. The German Innovation Award honours products and solutions across all industries, that distinguish themselves above all through user-centricity and added value compared to previous solutions. The German Innovation Award is the prize that makes innovations visible.
Weidmüller's Push Pull Power Connector features SNAP IN connection technology. Here, stripped fine-stranded conductors are simply plugged directly into the connection point, even without a wire end ferrule. With an audible click, a spring mechanism snaps shut and ensures a reliable connection for which no special tools are required. This considerably simplifies and speeds up cable assembly.
