We offer extensive component libraries for over 10,000 OMNIMATE® PCB terminals and connectors that are optimized for various PCB design software. Download individual data via Component Search Engine:

  • You can find the PCB design data (EDA) on the respective product detail page in the eShop directly under the download button “EDA single component”. From there you will be redirected to the Component Search Engine website, from where you can easily download the PCB design data as a ZIP file after registering free of charge.

How do I use the EDA data?

Download as ZIP file:

  • You can find the PCB design data (EDA) on the respective product detail page in the eShop directly under the download button “EDA single component”. From there you will be redirected to the Component Search Engine website, where you can download the PCB design data as a zip file after registering free of charge. Now simply select the required file format from the folder of the respective PCP design software. Done!

Use of the Library Loader Plugin:

  • Download the Library Loader as a plugin for your software design tool and automatically integrate product data from a wide variety of websites using drag & drop!

Creation of a new EDA file:

  • If there is no EDA model available for the part you need, registered users can request the creation of the part at Component Search Engine or use our design wizard, the so-called Part Wizard, to easily create the part themselves. The request for a part will usually be processed within 2 working days or 48 hours.

Download as a step file from our eShop:

  • You can find the 3D models in STEP format on the respective product detail page in the “Properties” area under Downloads directly next to the “CAD data - STEP” button. Here you can download the model directly without prior registration and open it in your CAD program.

Download other file formats from 3Dfindit:

  • Further formats can be found on the respective product details page in the “Properties” section under Downloads directly next to the “CAD data” button. From there you will be redirected to the 3Dfindit website, where you can download the product data in various 2D and 3D formats after registering free of charge.

Standardized product data for industry & distribution

Weidmüller supports your business processes with digital product data that covers both the technical and the commercial perspective. We use standard classification systems such as ETIM and ECLASS (Basic/Advanced), which are machine-readable and system-compatible. We then provide you with all article data in proven standards/exchange formats such as BMEcat or Excel.

Where can you find the standardized product data?

Requests for standardized product data are usually very individual. Different product groups, standards (ETIM, ECLASS...) and versions can be requested. That's why we give you the opportunity to describe your requirements in detail using the contact form listed here and we will then provide you with the exact data set you need.

Which file formats are available?

Weidmüller actively contributes to the development of standards such as ETIM and ECLASS and offers product data for PCB terminal blocks and PCB connectors in various formats, classifications and languages. The data for these products is primarily available as an XML file in the BMECat standard or as a CSV file in accordance with the ETIM or ECLASS classification.

ETIM (ElectroTechnical Information Model):

  • ETIM is an international standard for the classification and description of technical products, particularly in the electrical sector. It enables a standardized structure for product data that facilitates the exchange between manufacturers, wholesalers and end users. ETIM focuses on providing technical specifications, precise and comparable product information in predefined classifications.

ECLASS:

  • ECLASS is an industry- and company-neutral, hierarchical standard for master data for the classification and description of products and services.
  • While ECLASS BASIC is often used in the areas of purchasing, sales or control, ECLASS ADVANCED is mainly used in mechanical engineering and in CAX areas.

BMECat:

  • This is a standardized XML format for the exchange of product catalogs. In addition to product information, it also contains classifications such as ETIM or ECLASS.

CSV:

This is a simple text format that contains product data in tabular form. The columns could contain product attributes, ETIM or ECLASS codes.

How do I use the standardized product data?

1. Import data

  • BMECat-Daten: Use a suitable software tool or platform that can process BMECat data. This could be an ERP system, PIM system (Product Information Management) or special BMECat software.

  • CSV data: You can import CSV files into spreadsheet programs such as Excel or directly into your database or ERP systems.

2. Mapping of the data

  • Assign classifications: Assign the ETIM or ECLASS classes to the corresponding products. This can be done manually, or you can use mapping tools that automate this.

  • Attribution: ETIM and ECLASS provide standardized attributes (e.g. voltage, size, color). These attributes should be assigned to the products in your database.

3. Integration into your systems

  • ERP/PIM-System: Integrate the classified data into your ERP or PIM system so that this data can be used in your internal processes, e.g. ordering, warehouse management or sales.

  • Webshop: If you run a webshop, you can use the standardized data to improve your product pages. The ETIM or ECLASS data can help to refine search filters and product specifications.
